Support different materials on different steps for same 3D objects

I'd like to switch from one material (say metal) in a step to plastic, glass or X-ray on another step, on the same 3D object or sub-object, so I can show configuration options or show exciting way to look inside a product.

This is dev complete, and waiting for our other part (importing textures and materials together with 3D models) to finish QA and testing. We expect this in the next few days.

Yes! Especially because it allows consistency, the way we have to do it right now means the part has to disappear/reappear, which is jarring and breaks continuity.
